Safety Engineer

Target Engineering Consultants – Dubai South, Dubai, UAE

Target Engineering Consultants is seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to support our project team in Dubai South.

• Monitor health and safety activities across the construction site.
• Ensure compliance with approved HSE plans, project requirements, and UAE regulations.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify hazards and unsafe practices.
• Recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
• Review Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Permit to Work procedures.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and site inductions when required.
• Monitor high-risk activities including work at height, lifting operations, excavation, hot works, and confined spaces.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and prepare reports.
• Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, and corrective action registers.
• Follow up on closure of safety observations and non-conformities.
• Participate in HSE meetings and project inspections.
• Support emergency preparedness and site safety procedures.
• Promote a strong safety culture among project personnel and contractors.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant construction HSE experience.
• UAE construction experience is preferred.
• NEBOSH IGC and/or IOSH certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of UAE/Dubai HSE requirements and construction safety standards.
• Experience with construction site inspections and risk assessments.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple safety activities.
• Willingness to work on-site in Dubai South.
