Quantity Surveyor

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates, budgets, cost plans, BOQs, quantity take-offs, and tender documents.
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and tender documentation.
• Monitor costs against budgets and prepare interim valuations and cost reports.
• Assess subcontractor claims, payments, variations, and their cost implications.
• Support contract administration, tender evaluation, commercial analysis, and negotiations.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders on commercial matters and identify cost risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
• Construction, contracting, or engineering consultancy experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of BOQs, take-offs, estimation, cost control, valuations, and variations.
• Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Strong numerical, analytical, communication, negotiation, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Must be currently available in the UAE.

Software Skills

• PlanSwift proficiency for quantity take-off and measurement is required.
• Bluebeam Revu proficiency for drawing review, measurement, and quantity take-off is required.
• AutoCAD is used for reading and reviewing technical drawings.
• MS Excel is used for estimation, BOQ preparation, cost tracking, and reporting.
• Other quantity surveying, estimation, and cost-control software knowledge is advantageous.
