Retail Sales – Part Time

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions and deliver friendly, professional customer service.
• Help customers locate and handle merchandise and select products or services.
• Down-stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
• Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
• Cross-functionally train in other store areas to support customer service.
• Prepare merchandise such as tinted and mixed paint, cut and threaded pipe, bundled wood, cut drywall or cut blinds.
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify or output information.
• At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic addition and subtraction.
• Ability to perform duties requiring prolonged standing, sitting and other necessary activities.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Six months of retail or customer service experience is preferred.
• Bilingual skills are preferred.
• Certification in a trade related to the assigned department is preferred.

Working Conditions

• The role may involve indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wet, damp, humid, windy or drafty environments.
• The role may involve constant or intermittent noise and moving or shaking objects and equipment.
• Lifting methods vary by role, weight and volume; single lifts are generally limited to 75 pounds, with team lifts used as needed.
• Powered equipment may be used with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
• Regular travel is not required, though occasional travel may support meetings, training or neighboring stores.

Pay

• Pay is $16.00 to $16.65 per hour.
