Role Overview
The Operations Assistant Store Manager leads store associates and supports a clean, safe and well-stocked customer experience.
The role is accountable for sales, margin, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Assignments may focus on front-end or back-end operations, with possible rotation through merchandising and specialty areas.
What You Will Do
- Anticipate customer flow and work demand and adjust efforts and schedules to maintain coverage.
- Plan for sales spikes and ensure the store has sufficient inventory to support demand.
- Conduct safety walks, monitor power equipment use and coach associates on safe practices.
- Provide full store leadership when required and collaborate with store and district leadership.
- Travel occasionally for meetings, training or support of neighboring stores.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience leading associates in a retail environment.
- At least 3 years of experience in a fast-paced, cross-functional work environment.
- At least 1 year of manager-on-duty experience managing daily store operations and processes.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration where required by law.
- Availability for morning, afternoon and evening shifts any day of the week.
- Ability to stand, sit and lift at least 25 pounds without assistance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, certification or background in retail store freight flow logistics.
- Five years of experience leading support or operations associates in retail or consumer services.
- Experience in home improvement retail.
- Knowledge of interior and exterior product categories.
- Experience with store computer systems such as Project Tool, Genesis, M2O or Thin Client.
Compensation
- Pay range is $68,000 to $106,250 annually.
- Starting pay may vary based on position, location, education, training and experience.
