Purpose of the Role
Provide excellent customer service under the direct supervision of the Restaurant Manager or person in charge.
Perform combined cashier and waiter or waitress duties in a professional manner.
Customer Service and Ordering
- Provide fast, friendly, courteous, and efficient service.
- Inform customers about daily specials.
- Escort customers to tables and present menus.
- Take orders and answer questions about menu items.
- Explain ingredients and cooking methods and make recommendations when requested.
- Record or enter orders for transmission to kitchen staff.
- Serve food and beverages accurately according to customer orders.
Cashier and Restaurant Duties
- Prepare itemized checks and accept payments when required.
- Collect cash, credit card, and debit card payments.
- Count cash drawers at the beginning of shifts and ensure adequate change.
- Prepare tables for meals.
- Maintain a clean and orderly reception area.
- Provide help and support to junior staff.
Professional Requirements
- Minimum high school education or equivalent.
- At least two years of experience as a cashier or waiter.
- Good moral fitness and ethical standards.
- Knowledge of customer and personal service principles and processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Interpersonal Requirements
- Ability to communicate with kitchen staff, provide orders to customers, collect funds, and maintain accountability.
- Knowledge of credit card payments and point-of-sale registers for accurate payment and funds control.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
Language
- English is required.
Employment Schedule
- Full-time position working six days per week.
Compensation
- Pay is AED 2,500 per month.
Workplace
- Work is in person in Dubai.
