Purpose of the Role
The Commis Chef assists the Chef de Partie with preparation work, food supplies, and kitchen hygiene.
The role supports consistent food quality, quantity, and section operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Chef de Partie with preparatory work for dishes.
- Prepare and portion food on time according to quality and quantity standards.
- Prepare food accurately by following provided recipes.
- Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas, including refrigerators and freezers.
- Check product freshness and suitability and store products properly.
- Ensure smooth operation of the section during the Chef de Partie’s absence.
- Control costs by minimizing spoilage and waste and applying portion control.
- Follow basic food hygiene guidelines.
- Weigh ingredients and use correct quantities during food preparation.
- Assist chefs in upholding kitchen health and safety standards.
Professional Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- At least 1–2 years of full-time work experience.
- Previous experience in the food and beverage industry.
- Knowledge of food preparation to high quality standards.
- Knowledge of maintaining high hygiene standards.
Interpersonal Requirements
- Work quickly and efficiently.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to competing demands and learn on the job.
- Thorough, methodical, and well organized.
Compensation
- Pay is AED 2,500 per month.
Workplace and Relocation
- Work is performed in person.
- Candidates must be able to commute to Dubai or relocate before starting work.
