Role Overview
An international engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer for major building projects across the UAE.
The Resident Engineer will oversee site delivery and act as the client's representative throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the site supervision team, including inspectors and discipline engineers.
- Ensure construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, regulations, and contract requirements.
- Monitor contractor performance, programme, quality, health and safety, and project standards.
- Chair progress meetings and coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Review and approve material submissions, method statements, shop drawings, RFIs, and technical submissions.
- Monitor construction progress and resolve technical or commercial issues.
- Review contractors' progress claims and variation submissions.
- Oversee inspections, testing, commissioning, handover, reporting, and project close-out.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- At least 12 years of construction supervision experience with leading engineering consultancies.
- Resident Engineer experience on large-scale UAE residential, commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, or high-rise developments.
- Extensive knowledge of Dubai Municipality regulations, UAE building codes, and local authority approval processes.
- Experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary site supervision teams.
- Strong technical, communication, stakeholder management, reporting, leadership, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience coordinating with clients, developers, contractors, and government authorities.
