A Tier 1 main contractor delivering major building projects across the UAE is expanding its planning function.
The Head of Planning will own planning across every live project and tender and report directly to senior management.
The role will set department standards, lead the planning team, and act as the planning authority with clients, consultants, and the supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for planning across all live projects and tenders.
- Establish planning standards, procedures, and reporting formats across the business.
- Prepare and review tender programmes and provide programme input to bid submissions.
- Oversee baseline, recovery, and revised programmes.
- Monitor progress, earned value, productivity, performance, and risk across the portfolio.
- Lead delay analysis and prepare extension of time claims with supporting narratives.
- Advise project and commercial teams on programme-related contractual entitlement.
- Present programme performance to executive management and senior-level clients.
- Build, mentor, and manage a team of planning engineers.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Significant planning experience with main contractors, including Tier 1 experience.
- Proven track record leading a planning department or planning team.
- Experience delivering building and fit-out projects in the UAE or wider GCC.
- Expert user of Primavera P6.
- Asta Powerproject or MS Project experience is an advantage.
- Strong working knowledge of FIDIC and delay analysis methodologies.
- Confident presenting to boards, clients, and consultants.
- Based in the UAE or willing to relocate.
