Role overview

The Rectification Controller reports to the Forward Maintenance Manager and is a skilled maintenance technician who prioritises and allocates manpower.

The role requires an excellent understanding of Typhoon aircraft systems and maintenance reporting processes.

Core activities

  • Update the ESS State Board with maintenance progress, recovery estimates, and aircraft recovery forecasts.
  • Brief the Part M organisation on Typhoon fleet status and recovery actions.
  • Brief authorised squadron pilots regarding aircraft limitations.
  • Undertake aircraft ground handling, flight servicing, role changes, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements, and functional or system tests as required.
  • Supervise maintenance to schedule, escalate issues, and report impacts to the wider programme.
  • Ensure staff are competent and approved for allocated maintenance tasks and maintain task authorisations.
  • Meet delivery targets through effective supervision of personnel.
  • Support maintenance facility tasks required to maintain compliance with the MOE.
  • Provide team guidance and leadership, develop team members through formal assessments, and communicate complicated information.
  • Evaluate faults, raise ad hoc work cards, and conduct independent and vital inspections.

Key accountabilities

  • Set delivery targets, monitor progress, and develop performance improvement programmes for regulatory activities.
  • Prioritise activities across teams to maximise efficiency and assess escalated issues affecting continuing airworthiness.
  • Ensure Part 145 activities are documented and airworthiness records are maintained in IT or paper-based systems.
  • Ensure Part 145 activities are performed by suitably qualified, experienced, and authorised personnel.
  • Integrate Part 145 activity with the wider business and engage key stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Promote Human Factors, Error Management, Risk Management, and Safety Assurance within the Part 145 team.
  • Manage audit responses, address non-compliance, and implement and monitor effective improvements.

Regulatory requirements

  • Apply the relevant continuing airworthiness regulatory framework and support regulatory changes in maintenance activities.
  • Comply with applicable company procedures, regulatory standards, contractual requirements, ITAR, EaPW, and ISO requirements.
  • Support process confirmations, independent assurance audits, and relevant management reviews.

  • The role supports aircraft or component maintenance activities within an aircraft maintenance facility.
