About the Role

Manage quantity surveying and commercial activities for civil construction projects.

Ensure accurate measurement, cost control, valuations, variations, and subcontractor management in line with project requirements and contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review BOQs, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates for civil works.
  • Measure completed works and prepare interim payment applications and valuations.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and contracts to identify scope, quantities, and commercial requirements.
  • Prepare, evaluate, and track variations, claims, and additional works.
  • Manage subcontractor quantities, valuations, payment certificates, and final accounts.
  • Monitor project costs, commitments, and variations against the approved budget.
  • Coordinate with project management, site engineering, planning, procurement, and finance teams on commercial matters.
  • Review subcontractor and supplier quotations and assist in commercial negotiations.
  • Maintain records of measurements, variations, claims, and project costs.
  • Prepare monthly commercial reports and cost forecasts.
  • Support preparation and agreement of final accounts.
  • Ensure commercial activities comply with project contracts and company procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Five to six years of relevant experience in civil construction, preferably with a main contractor.
  • Strong knowledge of BOQs, quantity measurement, valuations, variations, claims, and cost control.
  • Good knowledge of construction contracts and commercial procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD; knowledge of QS or ERP software is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and reporting skills.
