Manage quantity surveying and commercial activities for civil construction projects.
Ensure accurate measurement, cost control, valuations, variations, and subcontractor management in line with project requirements and contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review BOQs, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates for civil works.
- Measure completed works and prepare interim payment applications and valuations.
- Review drawings, specifications, and contracts to identify scope, quantities, and commercial requirements.
- Prepare, evaluate, and track variations, claims, and additional works.
- Manage subcontractor quantities, valuations, payment certificates, and final accounts.
- Monitor project costs, commitments, and variations against the approved budget.
- Coordinate with project management, site engineering, planning, procurement, and finance teams on commercial matters.
- Review subcontractor and supplier quotations and assist in commercial negotiations.
- Maintain records of measurements, variations, claims, and project costs.
- Prepare monthly commercial reports and cost forecasts.
- Support preparation and agreement of final accounts.
- Ensure commercial activities comply with project contracts and company procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Five to six years of relevant experience in civil construction, preferably with a main contractor.
- Strong knowledge of BOQs, quantity measurement, valuations, variations, claims, and cost control.
- Good knowledge of construction contracts and commercial procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD; knowledge of QS or ERP software is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and reporting skills.
