Join the Finance team of a UAE construction company as an experienced Chief Accountant.
Manage accounting operations with a strong focus on construction and project accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise daily accounting operations and the accounting team.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and month-end closing.
- Monitor project costing, work in progress, project profitability, budgets, and cost variances.
- Manage supplier, subcontractor, customer, and project accounts.
- Review retention, advance payments, payment certificates, and receivables.
- Monitor cash flow and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and accounting requirements.
- Coordinate with auditors and ensure strong internal financial controls.
- Work closely with Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Contracts, Procurement, and Commercial teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 10+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a UAE construction or main contracting company.
- Strong experience in project accounting and construction costing.
- Good knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax.
- Strong Excel and ERP or accounting system skills.
- CA, CPA, or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
