The employer is seeking an experienced Cost Control Engineer to monitor and control project costs for construction projects.
The role is responsible for helping deliver projects within approved budgets and according to company procedures.
Main Responsibilities
- Monitor project budgets, actual costs, commitments, and forecasts.
- Prepare detailed cost reports, cash flow projections, and cost forecasts.
- Track expenditures, variations, subcontractor payments, and material costs.
- Analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions to project management.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Procurement, and Finance teams.
- Monitor budget progress and provide regular financial updates.
- Support project budgets, cost estimates, and tender evaluations.
- Maintain accurate cost coding and documentation and follow company policies.
- Identify potential cost overruns and support cost-saving measures.
- Prepare monthly cost-control reports for management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of construction-industry cost-control experience.
- Strong knowledge of construction cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Experience with Excel and project cost-control software.
- Good understanding of construction contracts, variations, and subcontractor cost management.
- Strong analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
- UAE construction experience is preferred.
