The employer is hiring a Contracts & QS Manager for a construction company in the UAE.
The role is based in the Abu Dhabi Emirate.
Main Responsibilities
- Review and administer main contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and commercial documents.
- Identify contractual and commercial risks and advise management.
- Manage correspondence, notices, extensions of time, claims, disputes, and the contract register.
- Manage budgets, cost plans, forecasts, commercial reports, and cost deviations.
- Review bills of quantities, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates.
- Prepare payment applications, valuations, subcontractor and supplier payments, and cost projections.
- Manage variations and change orders through documentation, pricing, approval, and recovery.
- Prepare, evaluate, negotiate, and follow up claims for additional works, delays, disruption, and extensions of time.
- Review and negotiate subcontract agreements and monitor subcontractor commercial performance and final accounts.
- Support tendering and procurement through pricing, quotation review, comparisons, and risk identification.
- Manage client and subcontractor final accounts and close outstanding commercial matters.
- Prepare monthly reports and dashboards covering profitability, cash flow, costs, variations, claims, and forecasts.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in construction contracts and quantity surveying, preferably in the UAE.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, commercial management, cost control, variations, claims, and final accounts.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of FIDIC contracts and UAE construction practices.
