Role overview

The Planning Engineer will oversee planning, scheduling, and coordination of fit-out projects from inception to completion.

The role supports on-time, on-budget, and quality project delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent planning software.
  • Coordinate schedules with project managers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to align with project objectives and milestones.
  • Allocate resources efficiently and adjust schedules to optimize utilization and productivity.
  • Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and address deviations from the plan.
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, budget expenditures, and other key performance indicators.
  • Provide regular progress updates to project stakeholders and management.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and other team members throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify process improvements and implement best practices and lessons learned to improve project delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Three to five years or more of experience as a Planning Engineer or in a similar construction or fit-out role.
  • Proficiency in project planning and scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or an equivalent tool.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members toward project goals.
