Pastry Chef position for an all-day dining and coffee concept in North Africa.
The role focuses on pastry and bakery production, creative desserts, quality consistency, and a pastry offering suited to the concept.
The position contributes to a high-quality, fast-paced culinary operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce pastries, desserts, cakes, and bakery items.
- Use baking, chocolate tempering, sugar work, and confectionery techniques.
- Maintain quality, taste, presentation, portion control, recipes, and food safety standards.
- Develop new pastry and dessert concepts based on trends and guest preferences.
- Manage daily pastry production, inventory, cost control, storage, and waste reduction.
- Coordinate with the culinary team for service and product delivery.
- Support menu development, recipe costing, and standardization.
- Train and guide junior pastry team members.
Requirements
- Culinary Arts or Pastry Arts degree, diploma, or equivalent certification from a recognized institution.
- Four to five years of hands-on pastry experience in a high-volume bakery, hotel, fine-dining restaurant, café, or all-day dining environment.
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar pastry-focused role.
- Strong knowledge of modern pastry techniques, chocolate work, confectionery, and dessert presentation.
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with strong communication and teamwork skills.
- International hospitality experience is an advantage.
- English communication skills are required; Arabic would be an advantage.
Compensation
- Pay starts from AED 4,000 per month.
- The posting describes an attractive compensation package.
