Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer will join a high-rise building project team in Dubai.
The role supervises and coordinates mechanical works with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and other disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise HVAC, chilled water, ventilation, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and other mechanical systems at site.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documents before execution.
- Coordinate mechanical works with architectural, structural, electrical, and other MEP services.
- Monitor subcontractors' activities, manpower, materials, productivity, and progress.
- Coordinate QA/QC inspections, inspection requests, material inspection requests, and technical submissions.
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, and balancing of mechanical systems.
- Resolve site issues, clashes, discrepancies, RFIs, and technical queries.
- Support as-built drawings, handover documentation, O&M manuals, testing reports, and commissioning records.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification is required.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience is required, preferably in high-rise building construction.
- Experience in the UAE or GCC construction industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, ventilation, and fire protection systems is required.
- Experience in MEP coordination and site supervision is required.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and relevant engineering or MEP software is required.
- Good knowledge of QA/QC, testing, commissioning, handover, and construction-site health and safety requirements is required.
- Good command of written and spoken English is required.
