Role Overview

SPIE Global Services Energy has an opportunity in Qatar for a Material Planning Specialist.

The role supports development and improvement of sustainable material management and planning systems.

The position interfaces with NOC entities, warehouse teams, maintenance stakeholders, and onshore and offshore personnel.

The role uses SAP-based work processes and supports maintenance material management within the M&I organization.

Main Duties

  • Create processes and procedures for maintenance material management and continuous improvement.
  • Drive an incident-free environment and maintain a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure HSE performance and compliance with legislation, company standards, and procedures.
  • Identify efficiency improvements across maintenance material management activities.
  • Provide specialist advice and administrative support on maintenance material movement.
  • Coordinate material flow for repair, refurbishment, return to stock, and offshore use.
  • Liaise with maintenance stakeholders and warehouse personnel on material management.
  • Coordinate tracking, bagging, and tagging with campaign, shutdown, and base operations coordinators.
  • Coordinate storage, preservation, refurbishment, and replenishment of materials and special tooling.
  • Support equipment repair processes, including visits to vendor workshops and warehouses.
  • Act as focal point for QA/QC material status and participate in warehouse audits.
  • Coordinate certifications and documentation through NOC document management processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • Extensive material management, warehouse operations, logistics, and business process experience.
  • At least 10 years of oil and gas industry experience, preferably in warehouse, logistics, or materials management.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems such as SAP and PALM.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other business applications.
  • Practical knowledge of Primavera planning and scheduling tools.
  • Understanding and application of process safety standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance, inventory control, material planning, and warehouse management.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Operational Context

  • The role supports onshore, site, and offshore personnel and may involve visits to local vendor workshops and warehouses.
