Role Overview

SPIE Global Services Energy Middle East LLC is seeking a Maintenance Planning Engineer Mechanical in Doha, Qatar.

The role plans daily maintenance activities and coordinates labor, materials, services, contractors, and other resources.

Maintenance Planning

  • Plan daily maintenance work to maximize equipment reliability and improve tool time and work quality.
  • Develop cost and time estimates for planned maintenance work to meet budgets and schedules.
  • Establish and improve maintenance plans and develop preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Prepare activity breakdowns, resource estimates, and work packs for maintenance work orders.
  • Review planned work, methods, procedures, and spare parts inventory.

Contract Handling

  • Support maintenance contract scope development, specifications, procurement initiation, technical evaluation, and approval processes.
  • Coordinate with contractors to provide manpower and services for daily work order planning.
  • Verify and process contractor invoices.

Spares and Materials

  • Coordinate with end users to ensure spares and materials are available for scheduled activities.
  • Provide feedback to MRP to maintain cost-effective replenishment levels.
  • Update ERP item masters, specifications, bills of material, spare parts criticality, and item codes.
  • Review inventory and buffer stock levels and coordinate spare procurement with supply chain and contractors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from a 12+4 year program.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, or fertilizer industry.
  • Strong technical background and maintenance field experience.
  • Experience in daily maintenance planning, technical evaluation, spare parts management, and contract establishment.
  • Competency and work experience in the SAP Maintenance module are required; SAP S/4HANA experience is preferred.
  • Fluent written and verbal English communication and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required.
