Role Overview
Lead Software Engineer role based in India for a partner company.
The role combines hands-on frontend and backend engineering with technical leadership and architectural problem-solving.
The position is fully remote and full-time, with a 9 AM–5 PM Melbourne-time schedule.
Accountabilities
- Develop, test, maintain, and improve web applications using Node.js, TypeScript, and React 18+.
- Own features from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and optimization.
- Design and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations with external systems and services.
- Build responsive, accessible, and performant interfaces using React, Tailwind CSS, and TanStack Query.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization using OAuth, OIDC, and session-based mechanisms.
- Use automated testing, code reviews, Git workflows, and reliable development practices.
- Optimize SQL queries and relational database interactions for application performance and scalability.
- Use AI coding assistants such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot while maintaining code quality.
- Work in Linux-based development and deployment environments.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers on user-focused features.
- Contribute to architecture, debugging, technical improvements, and performance optimization.
