Role Summary
Lead design and development, sizing, simulation, testing, validation, and certification for low- and medium-voltage variable-speed and variable-frequency drives.
The role covers core power electronics, product hardware design, manufacturing support, and standards-based testing.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform drive and filter sizing, hardware design, loss-budget calculations, earth and protection circuit design, arc-flash calculations, and root-cause analysis.
- Use calculations, modeling, and simulations to translate product and project specifications into designs.
- Design equipment to meet reliability, testing, manufacturability, material, and cost guidelines.
- Prepare configurations, operating principles, application guidelines, specifications, bills of materials, single-line diagrams, and drawings.
- Verify prototype hardware under specified operating conditions.
- Support manufacturing at factory and vendor facilities.
- Document and conduct functional tests according to applicable standards, including UL and IEC.
- Conduct project factory acceptance tests and coordinate with engineering and program teams.
- Travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
