Role overview
The role leads design and development, sizing, simulation, testing, validation, and certification of LV/MV variable-speed and variable-frequency drives.
The work focuses on core AC/DC power electronics for industrial drive products and projects.
Power electronics engineering
- Perform drive and filter sizing, product hardware design, loss budget calculations, earth and protection circuits, and arc flash calculations.
- Use calculations, modeling, and simulations to realize product and project specifications.
- Design systems and equipment to meet reliability, testing, manufacturability, material, and cost guidelines.
- Verify prototype hardware performance under all specified operating conditions.
Documentation and testing
- Prepare and validate configurations, principles of operation, application guidelines, specifications, bills of materials, single-line diagrams, and drawings.
- Document functional test requirements and conduct tests according to applicable UL and IEC standards.
- Conduct project factory acceptance tests and support manufacturing at factory or vendor facilities.
