Role overview
Lead engineering activities for existing and new electronic applications, particularly HVDC converters and future HVDC grids.
Work with an international, multidisciplinary engineering team with autonomy under established technical policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Generate accurate technical documentation and reports consistent with engineering procedures.
- Perform data analysis, requirements capture, failure analysis, root cause analysis, and problem-solving activities.
- Lead technical direction for small projects and interface with electronics manufacturers and integrators.
- Maintain legacy products and manage obsolescence and component lead-time challenges.
Technical skills
- Apply digital and analogue circuit design, schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, and FPGA selection.
- Use industrial networks including Profibus, Ethernet, and Passive Optical Networks.
- Perform bench, integration, EMC, environmental, and other product verification and validation testing.
- Apply EMC, design for manufacture, design for test, industrialisation, and design-to-cost practices.
- Firmware, software, and model-based development tools such as MATLAB, Mathcad, and LTspice are preferred.
