Role Overview
Lead control and protection engineering for EHV and HV substations at GE Vernova Grid Solutions.
The role covers AIS, GIS, HVDC, FACTS, renewable, onshore, and offshore substation applications.
The engineer will coordinate with global engineering centers, regions, business lines, and project workgroups.
Engineering Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize protection relay systems while meeting safety, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Lead secondary engineering for control and protection, substation automation, interface engineering, telecom requirements, and LV auxiliary systems.
- Design and prepare SLD, KLD, PSLD, and CRP drawings for substations up to 400kV and 765kV using an E-CAD tool.
- Design and review IEC 61850-based substation automation systems and interconnections.
- Review BOQs and network drawings for PLCC and FOTE engineering and interface CRP/SAS systems with telecom equipment.
- Review AIS and GIS equipment drawings, including breakers, isolators, earth switches, CSDs, PDMs, transformers, reactors, and monitoring devices.
- Perform CT and VT sizing calculations and design or review substation control and power cable engineering.
- Design LV/LT auxiliary systems and interface them with SAS and SCADA.
- Perform and review relay application, setting, coordination, and tripping analysis calculations.
