Information Technology Specialist

About the Role

Work Location and Schedule

• The role is primarily stadium-based and operates from tournament venues.
• The position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, public holidays, and extended hours during matchdays and critical operational periods.

Technical Support

• Provide first- and second-line IT support to venue teams, employees, contractors, and operational stakeholders.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other IT equipment.
• Resolve Microsoft 365, email, user-access, network, Wi-Fi, VPN, hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Log, prioritize, and track incidents through the designated IT help desk or ticketing system.

Venue Operations

• Set up and test equipment across stadium offices, accreditation areas, workforce centers, meeting rooms, control rooms, and other operational spaces.
• Conduct venue technology checks before rehearsals, matchdays, and live tournament activities.
• Operate from the venue IT help desk or technology operations center during live events.
• Coordinate with network, telecommunications, audiovisual, access-control, and specialist technology teams.
• Respond to matchday incidents and prioritize issues according to operational impact.

Assets and Reporting

• Maintain live incident logs and provide updates until critical issues are resolved.
• Arrange temporary workarounds, backup equipment, and escalation support to minimize operational disruption.
• Prepare, issue, track, and recover IT equipment allocated to venue teams.
• Maintain asset registers, handover records, inventory reports, and daily operational reports.
• Support venue decommissioning and final equipment reconciliation at project close.

Qualifications and Experience

• A diploma or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
• At least 3 years of experience in IT support, desktop support, IT help desk, or venue technology is required.
• Strong knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, standard IT equipment, wired networks, Wi-Fi, VPN, and connectivity troubleshooting is required.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, user-access administration, IT ticketing systems, and IT asset management is expected.
• Stadium, football tournament, sporting event, or major live-event experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder-coordination skills are required.
• Good command of English is required; Arabic is advantageous.
• ITIL, CompTIA, or Microsoft certifications are advantageous.

Contract Requirements

• Candidates must be available for the full fixed-term contract from ASAP to 28 February 2027.
• Candidates must be comfortable working primarily from stadiums and tournament venues.
• Candidates must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, public holidays, and extended hours during live tournament periods.
