- The role supports the Expo 2030 Riyadh infrastructure program managed by Bechtel.
Job Summary
Oversee contractor environmental compliance for Expo 2030 Riyadh construction activities.
Ensure work follows Expo 2030 Environmental Codes of Practice, environmental permits, applicable regulations, and project sustainability requirements.
Major Responsibilities
- Monitor and verify contractor compliance with environmental requirements and approved management plans.
- Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and site assessments.
- Review EMS, CESMP, waste management plans, dust management plans, and environmental monitoring reports.
- Monitor waste management, air quality, dust control, hazardous materials, wastewater, noise, and biodiversity performance.
- Investigate environmental incidents, track corrective and preventive actions, and support closure of non-conformances.
- Prepare environmental reports, compliance dashboards, and performance summaries for project management and the client.
- Provide environmental guidance, support training activities, and participate in contractor and stakeholder coordination meetings.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum five years of experience in environmental compliance on construction projects.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001, Saudi environmental regulations, and environmental management systems.
- Key skills include environmental compliance, auditing, reporting, monitoring, stakeholder coordination, incident investigation, and technical report writing.
Project Context
Expo 2030 Riyadh will include infrastructure, early works, utilities, streets, parks, and publicly accessible spaces across a six-square-kilometer masterplan.
The project incorporates sustainability standards for urban afforestation, treated water, and energy sources.
