Project and Role Overview

Bechtel is delivering infrastructure for Expo 2030 Riyadh, a major program covering early works, utilities, streets, parks, and a mixed-use legacy development.

The Engineering Manager will lead mobility and transportation design coordination for the Expo infrastructure program.

Work Arrangement

  • Telework type is full-time office/project, with work location in Riyadh.
  • International single relocation is authorized.

Job Summary

  • Lead design managers and multiple consultants appointed by the Client.
  • Coordinate planning, design, review, integration, and stakeholder management for mobility and transportation packages.
  • Cover traffic impact studies, mobility systems, roads and highways, public transport operations, pedestrian and crowd movement systems, and supporting civil infrastructure.
  • Provide technical guidance so engineering work meets requirements and remains within scope and budget.

Major Responsibilities

  • Report to the Engineering Director and interface with the Project Manager and Client technical leadership.
  • Develop engineering capabilities, implement delivery standards, oversee technical governance, and align work with best practices and local regulations.
  • Take technical responsibility for complex engineering assignments and coordinate their execution.
  • Review major scope, quantity, budget, and schedule changes and recommend budget adjustments.
  • Coordinate engineering with project management, procurement, construction, startup, ES&H, and project controls.
  • Manage multidisciplinary consultants, design quality, compliance, design reviews, comment close-out, and mobility interfaces.
  • Act as the point of contact for designers, the Client, operators, and authorities.
  • Lead design workshops and stage-gate reviews and manage design risks and changes.
  • Control scope, schedule, and resources and track actions, deliverables, and approvals.
  • Present technical recommendations to management and support client decision-making.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or master's degree, or international equivalent.
  • At least 20 years of transportation or civil infrastructure experience.
  • At least 10 years in a leadership or manager role.
  • Experience on major programs such as rail, metro, airports, Expo, or megaprojects.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary design consultants.
  • Strong stakeholder and authority management skills.
