Position Overview

The position is for an HSE Engineer supporting offshore oil and gas operations at MUB.

The role focuses on HSSE protection, environmental management, compliance, audits, risk assessment, training, inspections, and contractor oversight.

Work Pattern

  • The offshore leave cycle is 28 days on and 28 days off.
  • Offshore working hours are 06:30 to 18:30, seven days a week.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or science is required; chemical, mechanical, or environmental disciplines are preferred.
  • NEBOSH IGC or IOSH accredited certification is required.
  • At least 10 years of HSE experience in the oil and gas industry is required.
  • Experience with EMS or HSEMS, environmental compliance, audits, risk assessments, incident investigation, and oil spill response is required.
  • Offshore oil and gas facilities experience is a distinct advantage.
  • A UAE driving licence is required.

HSE Responsibilities

  • Promote company HSSE policies and support the development of health, safety, security, and environmental protection.
  • Participate in task risk assessments and safety management program implementation.
  • Conduct plant inspections, identify hazards and risks, and recommend corrective measures.
  • Participate in internal and external HSEMS audits.
  • Deliver site-specific HSSE awareness training, including confined space and fall protection training.
  • Prepare HSSE reports, inspections, campaigns, and activity logs.
  • Monitor contractors to support accident-free completion of work to quality and HSE standards.
  • Recommend improvements to environmental procedures, controls, and management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local and international environmental legislation, standards, and best practices.

Technical and Leadership Skills

  • Expert knowledge of HSSE regulations, safety standards, PPE requirements, and occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of local and international HSE regulations and industry best practices.
  • Incident investigation, training, presentation, and team leadership skills.

Contract Terms
