Role Overview
The HSE Engineer supports NMDC project delivery by implementing the HSE Management System and protecting project staff, customers, the community, and the environment.
The role is full-time and on-site in the United Arab Emirates.
Safety and HSE Duties
- Manage safety for assigned project staff and operations throughout project delivery.
- Support project management in achieving HSE goals and safe operations.
- Inspect site facilities, equipment, marine units, tools, and work activities using HSE checklists.
- Report and investigate accidents, near misses, unsafe practices, and unsafe conditions.
- Conduct safety meetings and coach workers on HSE policies, emergency procedures, and site requirements.
- Analyze HSE observations and incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Supervise subcontractors and site teams on safety matters.
- Coordinate investigations and track incidents through closeout.
Equipment, Training, and Records
- Ensure lifesaving, firefighting, gas-monitoring, and breathing-apparatus equipment is maintained, certified, and ready for immediate use.
- Prepare HSE training plans, coordinate workforce training, and observe emergency mock drills.
- Maintain HSE registers, incident reports, lessons-learned databases, and other HSE management records.
- Compile site HSE statistics and weekly reports and monitor housekeeping and safety controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline or a relevant equivalent professional qualification.
- Relevant HSE management qualification.
- Knowledge and understanding of the ISM Code.
- NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification or membership.
