Role Overview

The Safety, Health & Environment Advisor joins a construction supervision team in Abu Dhabi.

The role develops, implements, and oversees safety, health, and environmental programs across construction projects.

The advisor works with project managers, site supervisors, workers, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain safety, health, and environmental policies aligned with UAE regulations and international best practices.
  • Conduct construction-site hazard assessments, risk analyses, inspections, and compliance audits.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Deliver safety training and awareness programs to workers, supervisors, and management.
  • Maintain safety metrics, incident records, and compliance documentation.
  • Integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution and recommend program improvements.
  • Act as the primary contact for safety concerns, prepare management and regulatory reports, and coordinate with external agencies.
  • Monitor changes in UAE labor laws, safety regulations, and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • At least seven years of professional safety, health, and environment management experience in construction is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of UAE labor laws, safety regulations, and construction industry standards is required.
  • Expertise in hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies is required.
  • Strong incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action skills are required.
  • NEBOSH certification or an equivalent qualification is preferred.

Workplace

  • The role is based on site in Abu Dhabi and involves regular construction-site inspections and supervision.
  • Newly hired employees must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location.

Compensation
