Position Summary
The Hygiene Officer supervises and coordinates hygiene and food safety operations in a hotel environment.
The position is full-time and on-site in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Hygiene and Food Safety
- Supervise and coordinate operations to comply with hygiene and food safety standards.
- Advise on proper food handling practices and provide food hygiene training to new hires and trainees.
- Identify risks in food operations and take preventive remedial action.
- Provide technical advice on product labeling issues to meet government requirements.
People and Compliance Duties
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
- Follow company, safety, and security policies and report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
- Complete safety training and certifications and ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
- Address guest service needs and maintain positive working relationships with employees.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Environmental Health or Culinary from an accredited university or college is preferred.
- Two to four years of related work experience is preferred.
- At least one year of supervisory experience is preferred.
- No license or certification is specified.
Physical Requirements
- The role requires standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods.
- The role requires reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
