Purpose and Scope of Position

  • The Hostess serves as the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in creating a warm, welcoming, and memorable dining experience.
  • She is responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, coordinating table seating, and supporting the overall service operations.
  • The Hostess ensures service excellence and maintains the standards of a premium restaurant in Dubai’s competitive hospitality scene.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet guests upon arrival with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Escort guests to their tables and present menus as needed.
  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests promptly and courteously.
  • Provide guests with accurate information regarding menu items, promotions, and restaurant services.
  • Manage reservations via phone, walk ins, email, or reservation systems.
  • Maintain and update the seating chart and ensure organized table allocation.
  • Monitor table turnover to maximize seating efficiency.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and waitstaff to ensure smooth guest flow.
  • Ensure the hostess desk, entrance area, and menus are always clean and presentable.
  • Assist service staff with basic tasks during peak hours, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Communicate important guest details such as allergies, celebrations, or preferences to the team.
  • Support the Restaurant Manager during daily briefings and service preparations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience as a Hostess or Guest Service Agent in a restaurant or hotel environment preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional appearance with a welcoming and confident personality.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during busy periods.
  • Knowledge of reservation systems (OpenTable, SevenRooms, ResDiary, etc.) is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English required; additional languages such as Arabic, Russian, or French are a plus.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Customer focused attitude with strong problem solving skills.
