- Perform gross descriptions of small, uncomplicated specimens
- Section tissue samples using microtomy techniques
- Stain tissue for Routine, Special Stains, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry and Enzyme Histochemistry
- Maintain and operate laboratory equipment according to manufacturer recommendations
- Perform quality control on stains and record results
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent
- Not less than two years of Medical Laboratory experience in Histopathology procedures for Bachelor degree holders
- Currently licensed in country of origin and with DOH/DHA/MOH license to practice in UAE
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Ability to learn and handle automation and IT programs

Job Overview
- Performs clinical tests in areas of specialization depending on laboratory activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and direct research and development when appropriate.
- Prepares tissue samples for routine microscopic analysis.
- Gross descriptions of small, uncomplicated specimens are recorded using specific terminology.
- Tissue samples are prepared using correct procedures for preservation including processing, freezing and embedding.
- Tissue samples are sectioned using good microtomy techniques.
- Workload is prioritized and managed to meet expected Turn Around Times.
- Competence is maintained and new skills added as technology changes.
- Stains tissue for Routine, Special Stains, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry and Enzyme Histochemistry.
- Chemical solutions and stains are prepared, labeled and stored accurately.
- Stains are accurately performed and Quality Control results recorded.
- New stains are developed and instituted as needed.
- Maintains and operates laboratory equipment according to manufacturer recommendations.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent.
- Not less than two years of Medical Laboratory experience in Histopathology procedures for Bachelor degree holders.
- Currently licensed in country of origin and with DOH/DHA/MOH license to practice in UAE.
- Fluent in spoken and written English; Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
General Responsibilities

- Supports Continuous Quality Improvement.
- Participates in scheduled in service training programs.
- Exercises effective interpersonal skills.
- Maintains confidentiality.
