Job Overview

  • To understand all procedures of the hospital cleaning and use of all basic cleaning equipment.
  • To supervise work activities of Housekeeping personnel to ensure clean, safe & sterile environment in all areas of the hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Checking the timely on site availability of Housekeeping staff and overseeing their cleaning activities on day to day basis to keep the Hospital clean and sanitized at all times.
  • Ongoing training of Housekeeping staff according to Hospital standards and policies.
  • To ensure effective and timely Implementation of scheduled weekly special tasks and to periodically arrange for high rise cleaning of areas within the Hospital.
  • To strictly ensure that medical waste collection and disposal is as per safety and hygiene standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining the inventory of hospital equipment and cleaning supplies. Liaising with Hospital stores and outsourced vendors for the smooth and timely supply.
  • Timely and effective intervention with patients/hospital staff in resolving of complaints/issues, if any.
  • Monitoring of Housekeeping staff’s compliance as per scope of service agreed in Vendor’s contract.
  • To create and accurately maintain Housekeeping personnel files.
  • To facilitate coordination and scheduling of inter departmental mandatory trainings i.e. Infection Control/Fire & safety.
  • To ensure and coordinate with Infection Control in giving Hepatitis B vaccination to prevent infection.
  • To ensure Pest Control service is carried out every month.
  • To ensure daily supply of quality safe drinking water and periodic maintenance of dispensers.

Qualifications

  • College Graduate.
  • General knowledge of the procedures, equipment and supplies used in housekeeping.
  • Ability to plan and supervise the work of housekeeping personnel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • With good spoken and written English communication skills. Arabic language is advantageous/desirable but not essential.
