Responsibilities
- Review and interpret each prescription/medication orders in the ward and outpatient settings
- Provide appropriate patient information concerning the medications

- Perform drug utilization/administration evaluations and systematic internal reviews
- Replenish crash carts medications including controlled drugs
- Answer drug related inquiries from physicians, dentists and nurses
- Assist in the training of new in pharmacist staff
- Comply with all OSH and infection control policies and procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college or school of pharmacy
- Currently licensed in country of origin and with DHA license to practice in Dubai U.A.E.
- Thorough knowledge of UAE Laws, company policies, regulations precedents applicable to the area of work
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Self motivation and the ability to work under pressure
- IT competencies

Role Overview
- Performs as a Pharmacist with full professional authority, knowledge and judgment, operating as a generalist, with advanced level of responsibility and experience in all aspects of the total Pharmacy operation.
Managerial Responsibilities
- Maintaining sufficient inventory of material supplies and equipment for performance of duties
- Reporting shortage of materials to supervisor at earliest convenience, maintaining records for ordering and replenishments
Technical Responsibilities
- Reviews and interprets each prescription/medication orders in the ward and outpatient settings
- Provides appropriate patient information concerning the medications if & when required
- Advises/ questions/ clarified any prescription abnormality with the prescribing physician
- Inspects wards and clinics for outdated, deteriorated, or excessive stocks
- Performs drug utilization/administration evaluations, systematic internal reviews
- Checks & reviews medication stocks register in the wards to ensure drug availability and correct inventory
- Replenish crash carts medications including controlled drugs
- Maintains a register for crash carts locks
- Inspects Pharmacy inventory, nursing cabinets and removes any outdated or deteriorated medications
- Answers drug related inquiries received from physicians, dentist and nurses
- Assists in the training of new in pharmacist staff as per the direction of the chief pharmacist
- Performs other miscellaneous duties, as directed by the chief pharmacist
Quality and Safety
- Promoting and maintaining quality in all services and ensure continuous quality improvement measures are in place
- Complying with all safety and quality control programs and procedures as applicable
- Complying with applicable precautions for environmental safety, infection control
- Ensuring that safety procedures and quality assurance tests are maintained within all sections
- Communicating in a professional and courteous manner with patients, family and other medical personnel
Continuous Education
- Participating in education sessions for department staff, doctors and nurses on the safe and secure handling of equipment
- Participating in department programs/ committees, various hospital committees, and staff meeting
- Participating in the orientation and training of new employees
- Maintaining professional knowledge by attending lectures, seminars or on line education sessions
- Completing and maintaining all regulatory requirements including licensure and certification
Qualifications & Licensure
- Education and training: Pharmacists must possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college or school of pharmacy
- Thorough knowledge of UAE Laws, company policies, regulations precedents applicable to the area of work
- Currently licensed in country of origin and with DHA license to practice in Dubai U.A.E.

- Self motivation and the ability to work under pressure
- Fluent spoken and written English. Spoken Arabic is advantageous but not essential
