Clinical Responsibilities
- To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own work.
- Undertake comprehensive, highly specialist physiotherapy assessment of patients including those with the most complex presentation.
- Select appropriate treatment techniques, including improving independence in ADLs, providing assistive devices, conducting seating assessments.
- Use advanced clinical reasoning to formulate individual management and specialist treatment plans.
- Review and evaluate patient's condition at each physiotherapy session and amend treatment program as necessary.
- Work with members of the multi disciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Provide advice, teaching and instruction to patient, relatives and carers.
- Communicate effectively with patients and carers, addressing cultural, religious and language barriers.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate assessment and treatment records.
- Demonstrate sound understanding of clinical governance and risk management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- 2 years of experience
- Basic computer knowledge
Professional and Organizational Duties
- Maintain continuing professional development (CPD).
- Participate in staff appraisal scheme and identify objectives for personal development.
- Facilitate and support evidence based practice projects, audit and outcome measures.
- Efficiently manage designated case load.
- Attend mandatory training sessions.
- Ensure application of professional standards in day to day practice.
- Manage health and safety aspects within the workplace.
- Comply with organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Health, Safety and Security
- Undertake roles and responsibilities in accordance with OSHAD SF requirements.
- Familiarize and comply with all OSH policies, standards and procedures.
- Monitor and maintain health, safety and security of self and others.
- Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety Management System and Infection Control Guidelines.
- Understand and adhere to emergency preparedness, fire safety and code policies.
- Complete mandatory education and competencies.
- Participate in emergencies mock drills.
- Conduct Manual Handling education and awareness program to nursing team.
- Ensure therapy area is safe for other employees and patients.
- Participate in Risk Assessment in respective area.
- Ensure all equipment used is properly maintained and safe to use.
- Cooperate with Department Managers and OSH team.
