Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee a finance and accounting team consisting of two other resources.
- Prepare monthly and annual profit and loss account and balance sheet closings.
- Monitor receivables and payables and prepare regular MIS analyses and management reports.
- Oversee general ledger entries, depreciation, amortization, and deduction entries.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers for account reconciliations.
- Run and check the trial balance and prepare debtor aging reports.
- Prepare audit schedules and verify and vouch supplier payments.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and liaise with the bank when required.
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT filings and corporate tax filings.
- Prepare other ad hoc reports.
Desired Profile
- Be currently located in the UAE and have at least 2 years of UAE-related experience.
- Ideally have 5 years of relevant accounting experience through finalization and closing of accounts.
- Hold an internationally recognized accounting qualification such as ACCA, CA, CPA, CMA, or similar.
- Have experience cooperating with auditors for annual financial statement audits.
- Know VAT and corporate tax regulations and practices.
- Have experience with Peachtree, Tally, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting software.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and fluent in English.
- Be able to work with minimal supervision.
