Role overview
Lead a globally distributed team responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing Linux kernels.
Support cloud, server, desktop, and IoT environments while shaping kernel reliability, security, performance, and support.
Combine technical judgment with mentorship, delivery ownership, and strategic team leadership.
Accountabilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a globally distributed Linux kernel engineering team.
- Oversee kernel delivery, testing, maintenance, and evolution across multiple platforms.
- Drive software quality, security, reliability, performance, and predictable delivery.
- Collaborate with silicon vendors, cloud providers, and internal engineering teams.
- Own kernel release cycles and guide complex technical projects and architectural decisions.
- Foster open source culture through feedback, knowledge sharing, technical excellence, and accountability.
Requirements
- Technical leadership experience as a Senior Software Engineer, Tech Lead, Team Lead, or similar professional.
- Strong foundation in systems software, C programming, operating systems, or related areas.
- Experience with software packaging formats.
