Engineering Manager-MEP

Role Overview

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering; a master's degree is preferred.
• 15-20 years of MEP contracting experience, including at least 8 years in senior engineering leadership roles.
• Proven experience with Tier-1 MEP contractors in the UAE or GCC market.
• Experience managing engineering and technical delivery across multiple concurrent projects.
• Experience overseeing projects with combined values exceeding AED 500 million.

Engineering Leadership

• Lead the complete engineering lifecycle from design review through project handover.
• Direct multidisciplinary mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, ELV, and public health engineering teams.
• Establish engineering strategies and technical governance frameworks across multiple projects.
• Provide executive-level technical leadership and ensure engineering excellence at every stage.

Design Management

• Lead detailed design reviews, design development, and technical compliance processes.
• Manage consultant coordination and resolve complex engineering interface issues.
• Ensure optimized and buildable engineering solutions are developed and implemented.
• Drive value engineering to maximize efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness.

BIM and Digital Engineering

• Apply advanced BIM, digital engineering, and design coordination knowledge.
• Work with BIM Execution Plans, clash detection, 4D/5D BIM methodologies, and digital construction workflows.
• Lead BIM teams to ensure multidisciplinary coordination and model integration.
• Use BIM technologies to mitigate risks, improve constructability, and enhance project execution.

Multi-Project Management

• Oversee engineering functions across multiple major projects simultaneously.
• Align engineering deliverables with project schedules and client requirements.
• Monitor engineering performance, resource allocation, and project milestones.
• Support project teams in overcoming technical challenges and critical design issues.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary engineering focal point with clients, consultants, authorities, and internal stakeholders.
• Build strategic relationships with project partners and senior management teams.
• Lead technical presentations, workshops, and engineering reviews with executive stakeholders.

Innovation and Excellence

• Drive engineering innovation, process improvement, and implementation of best practices.
• Champion sustainable engineering solutions and modern construction methodologies.
• Establish lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives across projects.

Essential Requirements

• Extensive experience with Tier-1 MEP contracting companies.
• Deep knowledge of international engineering standards, local authority regulations, and UAE/GCC construction practices.
• Strong expertise in design management, BIM, digital engineering, and technical delivery.
• Proven leadership of large multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
