The role sets Canva's IT strategy and translates business priorities into a technology roadmap.
The role is part of Core IT, which supports technology across global campuses and everyday employee operations.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop high-performing teams through clear direction, capability building, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Build workforce technology covering onboarding, device management, tools, access, AI, automation, and collaboration.
- Use data to measure service quality, prioritize work, surface risks, and communicate progress to executive stakeholders.
- Represent IT in organizational and company-wide forums and advocate for investment and strategic alignment.
- Own the highest-priority in-flight initiatives and ensure delivery remains on track.
Candidate profile
- Experience leading internal technology functions at meaningful scale.
- Ability to build high-trust relationships with executive stakeholders and engineering teams.
- Curiosity about using technology to improve how people work.
- Ability to set a vision, build teams, and maintain quality without slowing delivery.
- Commercial understanding of the relationship between technology decisions and business outcomes.
- Leadership approach focused on developing people and enabling teams to perform at their best.
