Electrical Estimation Engineer

Role Overview

Job Profile

• The role requires 3 to 5 years of experience in electrical estimation and tendering.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and practical knowledge of TAQA requirements, specifications, standards, and submission procedures are required.

Tender Review and Scope Development

• Review tender specifications, drawings, equipment schedules, BOQs, and other documents to understand the electrical scope.
• Prepare electrical scopes of work, inclusions, exclusions, and responsibility matrices.
• Identify discrepancies, missing information, design gaps, and required technical clarifications.

Estimation and Pricing

• Conduct detailed electrical quantity take-offs from drawings and tender documents.
• Obtain, evaluate, and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Prepare cost estimates covering materials, equipment, labor, testing and commissioning, engineering, inspections, indirect costs, risks, and margins.
• Prepare and finalize electrical BOQs and tender pricing.

Technical and Commercial Coordination

• Prepare and coordinate technical clarification requests related to electrical scope and specifications.
• Maintain cost databases for material prices, labor rates, and man-hour requirements.
• Review scope, quantities, quotations, and pricing with the Estimation Manager or Engineer.
• Maintain records of tender documents, quotations, take-offs, assumptions, and pricing information.

Required Skills

• Understand electrical systems, materials, and installation practices used in building projects.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Use Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and demonstrate strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
• Have a good command of written and spoken English.

Advantageous Skills

• Knowledge of AutoCAD and estimation or quantity take-off software such as PlanSwift is advantageous.
