Role Summary

The Development Engineering and Technical Director supports GE Vernova Financial Services investment decisions by assessing development, technical, operational, cost, and schedule risks associated with power and renewable assets.

The role supports underwriting, due diligence, investment platform strategy, portfolio reporting, and management across APAC.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assess early- to mid-stage energy development and construction risks.
  • Support deal execution, underwriting, portfolio management, and investment objectives.
  • Perform techno-commercial due diligence and review technical, construction, permitting, land, equipment, and operating agreements.
  • Provide risk assessments for credit requests and support negotiations on technical issues.
  • Lead diligence for new investment platforms and develop budgets, schedules, and reporting frameworks.
  • Monitor development, construction, regulatory, plant optimization, and contractual performance.
  • Supervise construction management teams and ensure safety, environmental, cost, and schedule performance.
  • Support the sale of equity positions by assembling technical project information and responding to buyer questions.
  • Develop investment strategies for carbon-neutral technologies, including blue power and SMRs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering or construction management.
  • Strong ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical development issues.
  • Ability to lead programs or projects and document, plan, market, and execute them.
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Travel within India and APAC is approximately 40% of the time.
  • A master’s degree in engineering or management is strongly preferred.
