Role Overview
Design and provide competitive technical solutions for HVDC control and protection systems, associated AC systems, and secondary engineering during the ITO stage.
Contribute to reference solutions that maintain standard HVDC and AC control and protection systems, associated costs, and tender documentation.
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer specifications, identify gaps, raise clarifications, and develop technical solutions.
- Prepare control, protection, and sequencing strategy specifications.
- Perform preliminary dynamic performance studies using MATLAB and PSCAD.
- Support improvements to algorithms and strategies for power fault recovery or instability issues.
- Design or contribute to AC substation single-line diagrams.
- Customize control architectures, design LAN networks, map signals, identify I/O lists, and implement compatible hardware.
- Analyze cybersecurity standards compliance and network implementation with cybersecurity specialists.
- Coordinate internal and external partners and define responsibilities for complete solutions.
- Prepare sourcing specifications and validate received offers.
- Lead customer meetings and workshops.
- Plan engineering document and cost estimate delivery, evaluate risks and opportunities, and propose mitigations.
- Promote standardization, follow design practices and engineering reviews, and comply with quality procedures.
