Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification is an advantage.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a Japanese restaurant, sushi bar, or similar food service environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Japanese cuisine, ingredients, and food preparation techniques.
  • Familiarity with sushi preparation, knife skills, and food presentation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in preparing sushi, sashimi, tempura, ramen, or other Japanese dishes.
  • Knowledge of Japanese ingredients and cooking methods.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior chefs in preparing and cooking Japanese dishes.
  • Prepare ingredients, sauces, and garnishes according to restaurant standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of food products.
  • Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
  • Support inventory control and stock rotation (FIFO).
  • Assist in receiving and checking deliveries.
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Sous Chef.
  • Pay: QAR2,000.00 - QAR2,500.00 per month
