Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook Continental dishes according to standard recipes and quality standards
- Assist senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and catering functions
- Prepare ingredients, sauces, salads, sandwiches, pasta, grilled items, and other menu offerings
- Support catering events by ensuring timely preparation and service of food
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned workstation
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef
- Minimize food wastage through proper storage and portion control
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and company SOPs
- Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries using FIFO procedures
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver high quality food and efficient service
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Commi Chef or similar role in a restaurant, hotel, or catering company
- Hands on experience in Continental cuisine
- Experience in large scale catering operations or banquet events
- Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food presentation
- Familiar with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP or equivalent)
- Ability to prepare mise en place efficiently and work under pressure
- Capable of following recipes, portion control, and quality standards
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Physically fit and able to stand for long hours and lift kitchen supplies
- Culinary diploma or certificate is an advantage
- Willing to work flexible shifts, weekends, and public holidays
