Key Areas of Responsibility
- Determine production schedules and staffing requirements for timely service delivery.
- Estimate quantities and costs of food, ingredients, and other supplies.
- Inspect supplies, equipment, work areas, and received products for quality and standards compliance.
- Instruct chefs and kitchen workers in food preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation.
- Order or requisition food and other supplies needed for efficient operations.
- Analyze recipes and assign menu prices based on food, labor, and overhead costs.
- Monitor sanitation practices and regulatory compliance.
- Supervise and coordinate cooks and other food-preparation workers.
- Collaborate with the in-house nutritionist on recipes and menus.
- Check raw and cooked food quality and record production and operational data.
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
- Coordinate planning, budgeting, purchasing, and kitchen food-preparation activities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Train, supervise, counsel, and discipline employees in the department.
- Develop and maintain a professional workforce.
- Ensure member services are delivered professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain a safe working environment and positive employee attitude.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Interact positively with supervisors, management, coworkers, members, and the public.
- Produce accurate, complete, and high-quality work at high volume and in a timely manner.
- Attend work regularly and on time, follow directions, accept criticism, and maintain respectful conduct.
