Role Overview
The partner company is seeking a C++/C Software Developer as an independent contractor based in Canada.
This is a remote, fixed-term contract focused on modernizing a mission-critical telecommunications call-handling platform.
The engagement is planned through the end of Q1 2027 and requires technical ownership and autonomy.
Accountabilities
- Migrate 32-bit C++ call-handling subsystems to a 64-bit architecture.
- Develop scripts and automation for the transition from CentOS 7 to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.
- Modernize Java-based web configurators and related platform components.
- Participate in system testing, validation, deployment, and release activities.
- Update CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling for the modernization program.
- Perform security testing and remediate identified vulnerabilities or gaps.
- Work independently against the migration plan while collaborating with the engineering team.
- Troubleshoot complex Linux, networking, virtualization, security, and application issues.
- Communicate progress, findings, risks, and solutions to technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional C++ application development on Linux platforms.
