Your Role – Magic happens when you bring great people together!
- Architecture & Solution Design: Define end to end UOC solution architectures on AVEVA System Platform/OMI.
- Delivery Leadership: Lead UOC delivery teams through requirements workshops, design, configuration, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and operational handover.
- Practice Development & Pre Sales: Act as the practice's UOC technical authority in pre sales.
- Quality, Security & Governance: Ensure compliance with client cybersecurity requirements and IEC 62443.
Architecture & Solution Design
- Define end to end UOC solution architectures on AVEVA System Platform / Operations Management Interface (OMI): object model design, galaxy topology, redundancy, and multi site federation.
- Lead the end to end design and architecture of AVEVA UOC solutions, including System Platform configuration, Galaxy design, and integration of plug in applications, analytics, GIS mapping, CCTV, ERP, and engineering data (P&IDs, historians, SCADA).
- Translate business and operational requirements into a scalable UOC architecture, selecting and adapting industry solution templates and content library components for the relevant vertical (oil & gas, power, mining, water/wastewater, data centers, smart cities, renewables).
- Design the data integration layer across OT and IT sources: PI System and other historians, DCS/SCADA (via OPC UA/DA, MQTT), alarm systems, CMMS, LIMS, and enterprise applications, respecting IEC 62443 zone and conduit models.
- Lead the information design of control room and collaboration environments: KPI hierarchies, role based displays, and escalation logic grounded in high performance HMI principles (ISA 101) and abnormal situation management practice.
- Architect deployments for constrained environments: air gapped and firewalled national oil company sites, DMZ hosted architectures, and offline installation and patching regimes.
Delivery Leadership
- Lead UOC delivery teams through requirements workshops, design, configuration, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and operational handover.
- Plan and control the technical scope: estimates, work breakdown, design reviews, and quality gates across the project lifecycle.
- Run operator and stakeholder engagement: display design reviews with panel operators, shift supervisors, and integrated operations leadership to ensure adoption, not just installation.
- Coordinate with client OT/IT, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams on servers, virtualization, networking, and domain integration.
Practice Development & Pre Sales
- Act as the practice's UOC technical authority in pre sales: demonstrations, proof of concept builds, solution write ups, and RFQ/RFP technical responses.
- Codify reusable practice IP: reference architectures, display style guides, object template libraries, integration adapters, and delivery runbooks under the practice document register.
- Work with the practice's industrial AI engineers to surface analytics and AI outputs (soft sensors, anomaly detection, alarm analytics, AI generated shift insights) into UOC displays as actionable operator guidance.
- Mentor application engineers toward independent System Platform/OMI delivery capability.
Quality, Security & Governance
- Ensure compliance with client cybersecurity requirements and IEC 62443 across all interfaces between the UOC environment and OT systems.
- Maintain configuration management, backup/recovery strategy, and as built documentation for all UOC environments.
- Define operational KPIs, alarms, and role based visualizations that unify data across multiple sites, fleets, or departments into a single command and control view.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Instrumentation, Chemical, or Computer Science).
- 10+ years in industrial automation or operations software delivery, with 5+ years hands on AVEVA System Platform (Wonderware) experience including OMI, and at least two delivered UOC or integrated operations center programme.
- Strong integration track record: OPC UA/DA, MQTT/Sparkplug, historian interfaces (PI System, AVEVA Historian), and REST/SQL based enterprise integration.
- Solid understanding of control room operations, alarm management (ISA 18.2/IEC 62682), and high performance HMI design (ISA 101).
- Working knowledge of OT infrastructure: Windows Server, virtualization (VMware/Hyper V), Active Directory, thin clients, and network segregation in IEC 62443 governed environments.
- Demonstrated team leadership on multi engineer delivery projects, including estimation and design review responsibility.
- Strong client facing skills, with experience running workshops, presenting technical solutions, and managing stakeholder expectations.
Preferred
- GCC delivery experience with national oil companies and familiarity with their approval, HSE, and site processes.
- Experience with AVEVA PI Vision, AVEVA Reports, and mobile/remote operations use cases.
- Exposure to AVEVA AIM/digital twin integration and 3D/engineering data surfacing in operations displays.
- Scripting/development capability (Python, .NET/C#, JavaScript) for custom OMI apps, adapters, and automation of configuration tasks.
- Familiarity with AI/ML in operations: predictive analytics, alarm rationalization analytics, and LLM assisted operator support concepts.
- Familiarity with AVEVA CONNECT and the AVEVA Flex subscription/licensing model.
- AVEVA certifications in System Platform/OMI.
- Arabic language skills are an advantage.
