About the Role
Schneider Electric is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to lead end-to-end AVEVA AIM implementations for oil and gas clients in Doha, Qatar. Responsibilities
- Lead end to end AVEVA AIM implementations: requirements definition, information standard alignment, environment setup, configuration, data loading, validation, and go live
- Design and configure class libraries, tag/document numbering rules, and asset breakdown structures aligned to client information standards
- Build and operate data ingestion pipelines for engineering deliverables from EPC handover packages and legacy archives
- Integrate AIM with 3D visualization (AVEVA E3D/PDMS models, laser scan/point cloud data) and cross reference tags, documents, and models into a navigable digital twin
- Generate and report on data conformance, consistency, and completeness against defined information standards using AVEVA BI Gateway
- Configure gateways and interfaces to adjacent systems: PI System/historians, CMMS/EAM (SAP PM, Maximo), document management systems, and AVEVA Unified Operations Center
- Execute deployments under air gapped and firewalled site constraints typical of national oil company environments
- Act as the AIM subject matter expert in pre sales: solution architecture, effort estimation, demonstration environments, and technical responses to RFQs/RFPs
- Own and evolve reusable practice assets: configuration templates, class library baselines, data loading toolkits, validation scripts, and delivery runbooks
- Mentor application engineers and coach client information management teams toward self sufficiency
- Contribute AIM data readiness assessments as an input to AI use case feasibility
- Define and enforce data quality KPIs and report progress to project and client stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, or Computer Science)
- 8+ years in engineering information management or industrial software delivery, with 3+ years hands on AVEVA AIM configuration and deployment experience
- Proven delivery of at least two full cycle AIM implementations in oil and gas, petrochemical, or comparable process industries
- Working knowledge of engineering information standards: CFIHOS, ISO 15926, ISO 14224, and EPC handover specifications
- Practical experience with Smart Plant Engineering tools, AVEVA E3D/PDMS model handling, laser scan integration, and engineering document formats (DWG, DGN, intelligent P&IDs)
- SQL proficiency and scripting capability (Python preferred) for data transformation, bulk loading, and validation
- Fluent English; strong client facing communication and workshop facilitation skills
- Experience with REST APIs and system integrations in an industrial software environment

Your Role

- Integrate AIM with 3D visualization (AVEVA E3D/PDMS models, laser scan/point cloud data) and cross reference tags, documents, and models into a navigable digital twin.
- Generate and report on data conformance, consistency, and completeness against defined information standards using AVEVA BI Gateway.

Technical Leadership & Practice Development

- Contribute AIM data readiness assessments as an input to AI use case feasibility (soft sensors, reliability analytics, autonomous operations pillars).
Quality, Security & Governance
- Define and enforce data quality KPIs (tag document model cross reference completeness, attribute population rates) and report progress to project and client stakeholders.
- Maintain configuration management, change control, and as built documentation across all AIM environments (development, staging, production).
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, or Computer Science).
- 8+ years in engineering information management or industrial software delivery, with 3+ years hands on AVEVA AIM configuration and deployment experience.
- Proven delivery of at least two full cycle AIM implementations in oil and gas, petrochemical, or comparable process industries.
- Working knowledge of engineering information standards: CFIHOS, ISO 15926, ISO 14224, and EPC handover specifications.

Preferred
- GCC delivery experience and familiarity with their engineering standards and vendor approval processes.
- Exposure to AVEVA Unified Operations Center, AVEVA Connect, or digital twin programmes.
- Familiarity with AI/ML data readiness concepts.
- AVEVA certification(s) in AIM or related portfolio products.
- Familiarity with AVEVA CONNECT and the AVEVA Flex subscription/licensing model.
- Arabic language skills are an advantage.
