Role overview
The Automation and Controls Engineer is a key member of a global, matrixed design team.
The role owns the software development lifecycle for HMI and control system applications, with a focus on Microsoft technologies.
The engineer develops robust, safe, and configurable HMI architectures for product lifecycles.
Core responsibilities
- Design and implement HMI screens for power management systems and IEC 61850-based process controls.
- Develop HMI applications for Iconics, PCVue, and other HMI packages while addressing customer and cyber requirements.
- Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain C# and .NET software applications.
- Design databases, tune SQL stored procedures and functions, and manage SQL Server data storage and retrieval.
- Develop RESTful APIs and web services using C# and Web API.
- Design and support industrial communication networks for control system applications.
- Support field personnel with technical problem resolution and assist with project quality assurance.
Technical skills
- Relevant technologies include C#, .NET Core or Framework, ASP.NET, MVC, SQL Server, Web API, SQL, and Microsoft Access.
- Relevant HMI platforms include Iconics, PCVue, iFIX, and CIMPLICITY.
