Overview
Assist the Workshops Supervisor with maintenance inspections, services, and repairs on assigned aircraft support equipment.
Duties
- Disassemble, repair, reassemble, adjust, remove, replace, service, prepare, preserve, weld, paint, clean, and troubleshoot GSE systems and components.
- Maintain pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, gasoline or diesel engine systems, subsystems, and components according to manuals and safety directives.
- Use common and special tools and perform user maintenance.
- Requisition AGSE parts and maintain shop and bench stock for GSE repairs.
- Inspect and prepare forms and records in accordance with DA PAM 738-751.
- Train host national personnel on proper AGSE and component maintenance.
- Maintain inventory of tools and equipment assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualification
- High school completion is required.
- Completion of a formal GSE training course from an accredited military or civilian school is required; on-the-job training may substitute.
- Knowledge of common tools, special tools, hardware, and equipment used in ground support equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of the Army Maintenance Management System applicable to GSE is preferred.
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience working with gasoline or diesel engines, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical equipment related to ground support equipment.
- Basic machining and welding experience is desirable.
- Experience with AGPU and MFAG repair and maintenance is preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot ground support equipment malfunctions.
- Ability to interpret applicable technical data.
